Job Description:


GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide instruction to students in organic chemistry - (CHM 251) Organic Chemistry I and (CHM 251L) Organic Chemistry Laboratory during the Fall, 2019 semester (September 3 through December 17, 2019).

Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Master's degree in chemistry (with advanced course work in organic chemistry) from an accredited institution.
  2. Demonstrated ability to teach chemistry using active-learning strategies.
  3. Commitment to the community college philosophy.
  4. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with students and colleagues.
  5. Ability to meet the challenges of a broad curriculum and a student body with diverse abilities, interests and backgrounds.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Ph.D. in organic chemistry from an accredited institution.
  2. Community college teaching experience.



Additional Information:


COMPENSATION: Anticipated starting salary - Step I DCE pay scale. Part-time, non-benefited, MCCC Unit position.
